I share the depression with you. I was looking forward to screaming furcal's name and thinking of something clever to dress up as. Instead I will probably wear more black this year. Let's hope they will surprise us.

And not to add to the dejected-ness (is that a word, by the way?), but another rotation option just got pulled from the table. Brad Penny signed with the Red Sox. Though it wouldn't have been thrilling to have him in Atlanta, it's better than Jo Jo Reyes. By the way, another near-miss was Tazawa. Though you can hardly blame Wren for that one, every Japanese player has a man-crush on Matsuzaka and wants to play in the wretched city of Boston. Reminds them of their home country, it's really cold and nobody wants to talk to you.

The only hope the Braves have at finishing over .500 is to get remarkable years out of both Jordan Schafer and Tommy Hanson. It might not happen until May, but as soon as Jo Jo Reyes takes the hill, the season is officially over.

Yeh, this winter's been unbelievably bad for the Bravos. Usually stuff like this happens to the Mets and Jets. (Although lately the Mets have been saving their disappointment for Septembers.)

Chipper Jones chimed in on the Mets-Phillies rivalry lately. About all the trash talk and winning with class. He's right... the Braves made my life miserable in the late 90s, but they definitely did it w/ class.

Derek Lowe anyone? He may be 36 but he is by far the best option out there.
