I assumed he was since he was picked up before the deadline probably.

By "Japanese guy" you must mean "Tazawa". I haven't found any more info about him since that one rumor.

This Peavy thing is getting on my dang nerves. If we have to lose Escobar so be it but I don't like it. Now I hear they're asking for Flowers as well. Heck no!!

Re: Braves Still in the Hunt for Pitching

FYI, Rich Harden is not a free agent. I think the rotation probably looks like:
Peavy, Jurrjens, Japanese Guy, Mike Hampton, Jorge Campillo, though I hope we replace that Peavy name with AJ Burnett. He's my favorite free agent pitcher. Huge power pitcher with electric stuff. He's what the Braves are needing.

http://atlantabred.mlblogs....

Re: Braves Still in the Hunt for Pitching

1. Smoltz
2. Lowe
3. Jurrjens
4. Hampton (incentive laden definitely)
5. Morton/Glavine (also incentive laden)

I really like Peavy, but I don't like giving up Yunel, and I don't like his road ERA being a run and half higher.

Re: Braves Still in the Hunt for Pitching

In all honesty I wanted to put a little lightening rod in the mix. He's about the same age as Jurrjens so it's not unheard of but it would be unlikely. Like I said, there's too many what if's to know what to think at this point.

I wanted to put something up that would be some just extreme speculation.

Re: Braves Still in the Hunt for Pitching

Hanson will most likely spend the first half of the season in AAA. The Braves are still going to give Morton a long leash. The impression I got last season, is that they don't want to rush Hanson and be to aggressive.

It's amazing they let him pitch this much in the AFL (Hanson). The reason Wren said they didn't call up Hanson in September was to limit his innings. They're going to end up treating Hanson with kiddie gloves.
